An email sent every 6 minutes, Kangana-Hrithik plot thickens
A prolonged spat between two of India’s biggest movie stars got murkier on Friday after emails purportedly sent by Kanagna Ranaut to Hrithik Roshan surfaced in the media.
Over 3,000 emails sent over six months — excerpts of which were published by DNA newspaper — suggested Ranaut was “imagining a relationship” with Roshan, when none apparently existed.
The alleged mail trail showed two-time national award winner Ranaut sent emails every six minutes on some days. The emails were also allegedly accompanied by revealing photographs of Ranaut.
But the email address — hroshan@email.com — to which Ranaut sent her messages appeared to be fake with the Mumbai Police investigating the matter. Ranaut’s lawyers said two of her email ids were hacked by Roshan.
“By circulating some out-of-context unreliable emails to the media, Mr. Hrithik Roshan has proved he has lost complete trust in the legal system and shall go to any extent to cause damage to my client’s name, image and reputation and instill fear in her mind,” Ranaut’s lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee told HT.
The spat began in January when in an interview, Ranaut appeared to refer to Roshan as her “ex”. Roshan denied any rumours of an affair in a tweet and filed a defamation case against Ranaut for referring to him as her ‘silly ex’. His legal notice alleged the Queen actress was suffering from Asperger’s Syndrome and said she sent him “senseless, personal and absurd” emails. Ranaut responded with a counter notice, accusing him of intimidation.
Roshan’s lawyers say the email ID hroshan@email.com is not his and that he complained to police about the fake ID in 2014.
“The facts have been now presented to authorities. We will prove our client Hrithik Roshan has had no relationship with Kangana Ranaut. We have presented solid evidences of this nature to the investigating authorities,” Roshan’s lawyers said. MUMBAI POLICE PROBE
Mumbai police’s cyber cell moved a step closer on Friday to identifying who created the fake email ID hroshan@email.com. The cyber cell got a court order allowing it to get a US-based service provider to disclose who is behind the email ID that Roshan alleges an imposter was using to communicate with Ranaut.
On March 25, the cyber cell registered a FIR against unknown persons for impersonating Roshan by creating a fake email ID in his name and using it to chat with his fans.
