IIT JEE main 2016 results today
LUCKNOW: With the results of IIT joint entrance examination (JEE) main expected to be out on April 27, thousands of students from the city who appeared in the test are expectedly anxious. While many had matched their answers soon after the keys were uploaded on the site, there are many others who refrained from doing so as they didn’t want to get disturbed.
Ahead of the big day, candidates opted for different means to de-stress themselves. Gaurav, student of City Montessori School, went to Hanuman temple on Tuesday morning to seek divine blessings. “Morning prayers help ease my nerves. Such is the pressure that I have not even matched my answers with the key that was uploaded. I’m keeping my fingers crossed,” he shared.
Niladri from La Martiniere College confessed that he was “a little tense”. “I kept on sleeping till Tuesday afternoon to stop myself from getting tense. I have done well but am not 100% sure if I will qualify for the advance test, the next level of the exam,” he said.
In Lucknow, a lot of candidates had found the paper to be lengthy. A total of 90 questions, carrying 360 marks, had to be answered in three hours.
It’s not just the students but parents too who are feeling the pressure of expectations. While most want their child to perform better than the neighbour’s or the relative’s son or daughter, experts say that such expectations do more harm than good.
