Lko Metro: Tender for underground section awarded
LUCKNOW: The state government awarded the tender for the underground section of the Lucknow Metro Rail on Tuesday. The decision to award work for the over three-kilometre under-ground section of the metro from Charbagh to KD Singh Babu Stadium was taken at a board meeting of the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) chaired by chief secretary Alok Ranjan.
The LMRC had received four bids. “The contract has been awarded to Messrs GULERMAKTPL a joint venture which emerged as the lowest eligible bidder,” said a released issued by the state government. The contract firm would design and construct the tunnel that would start from an underground ramp (near Charbagh metro station) till the end of underground ramp near KD Singh Babu Stadium Metro Station including three underground stations (namely Hussainganj, Sachivalaya and Hazratganj) on the North-South corridor of the Lucknow Metro Rail.
Ranjan, as LMRC chairman approved the recommendation of the director level tender committee which had been constituted to finalise the tender. Three more companies — M/s DOGUS-SOMA JV, M/s ITALIAN –THAI Development Public Company Limited and M/s AFCONS Infrastructure Limited— had also given their rates for the tender. The board of directors also approved allotment of equity shares of Rs 100 each for the central and the state government in the equity share capital of the company. The board of directors further expressed their satisfaction on the overall progress of Metro work and said that all efforts should be made to complete the work within the stipulated timeframe.
THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS EXPRESSED THEIR SATISFACTION ON THE PROGRESS OF METRO WORK AND SAID THAT ALL EFFORTS SHOULD BE MADE TO COMPLETE THE WORK WITHIN THE TIMEFRAME.
