Oudh Bar Assn felicitates women lawyers
In a first-ever function for the felicitation of women lawyers of the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court, the Oudh Bar Association on Thursday honoured 40 lawyers who completed 25 years of advocacy.
Senior judges of the HC were present on the occasion. Among them was Justice AP Shahi, who was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Shahi assured women lawyers all support. “You (female lawyers) must come prepared and present your case boldly before the court,” said Shahi.
He also urged women lawyers to be fearless while discharging their duty. Addressing the gathering, Additional Advocate General Bulbul Godiyal, who was also felicitated, urged lawyers to promote girls.
“If there is a girl in your family then please support her and help her realise her dream,” urged Godiyal. She gave credit for her success in life to her father Robin Mitra.
Godiyal also praised senior judges, specially AP Shahi, and members of the Oudh Bar Association, for supporting female lawyers in discharging their legal work.
“All judges, especially AP Shahi, have been very supportive of female lawyers. With the support of the Bar Association and our male colleagues, we have been able to discharge our work successfully for all these years successfully,” said Godiyal.
Lawyer Nalini Jain, who was also felicitated on the occasion, gave credit for her successful career to late lawyer of the Lucknow bench of high court, Virendra Bhatia.
President of the Oudh Bar Association HGS Parihar along with general secretary of the association RD Shahi and other senior lawyers were also present on the occasion. Assistant solicitor general, government of India, SB Pandey among others also graced the occasion.
Deepti Tripathi, member of the Oudh Bar Association, conducted the function.
