Akhilesh hits back at Modi, hints at BJP-BSP pact
LUCKNOW: Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party over latter’s ‘jugalbandi’ statement about the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) at BJP’s national executive meeting in Allahabad on Monday.
Modi had said that there was a ‘jugulbandi’ between SP and BSP-- a tacit understanding of alternating power between them.
In a veiled reference to previ- ous pacts between the BSP and the BJP, he said: “The festival of Rakhi is coming (reference was to both the actual festival as well as the 2017 election) and they would tie Rakhi. It is they who had come together to form governments.”
