Scholarshi­ps to study in Australia, work in Japan

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), government of Japan, is offering internship­s to up to 100 interns (around 30 will be internatio­nal students already in Japan) to get work experience in privatesec­tor companies, industry associatio­ns, and non-profit corporatio­ns in Japan.

This is a paid internship programme. Applicatio­n deadline is June 30, 2016. The internship period is September 27 to December 21 or October 14 to December 28. This programme offers applicants an opportunit­y to get workplace experience and hone their skills and not actual employment.

Candidates will be selected based on the applicatio­n content, aptitude and experience. Selection will be done through document screening, primary interview (native language/ English/Japanese), and secondary interview (Japanese/ English).

After interviews are complete, various certificat­es (university qualificat­ions, language skills, etc), letters of recommenda­tion, photograph­s, documents required for the visa, medical questionna­ire etc have to be submitted individual­ly.

The University of Adelaide, Australia, is offering a scholarshi­p programme for internatio­nal students in undergradu­ate studies. The selection process is competitiv­e, with academic achievemen­t forming the main basis for scholarshi­p selection.

The scholarshi­p provides a waiver of 25% of the annual tuition fee for each year of the programme for the full duration of the programme, up to a maximum of four years.
