AGRA: Veeresh Yadav, arrested by Mathura police as a co-accused in the Jawahar Bagh episode, has made the revelation that a RSS man from Agra had been imparting guerilla warfare training to Ram Vriksh Yadav’s ‘pagal sena’ confirmed SSP, Mathura, Babloo Kumar.

The security in-charge of Ram Vriksh Yadav’s cult, which clashed with police in Mathura on June 2, reportedly revealed that an RSS activist trained the group in guerrilla warfare.

According to Mathura SSP Babloo Kumar, Veeresh Yadav, who was arrested by Mathura police as a co-accused in the Jawahar Bagh violence, said that one Rajveer Singh alias Guruji of the RSS, had been training members of the Swadhin Bharat Vidhik Satyagrah in the use of baton and other combat techniques. “We are yet to verify the allegations and are using our network to investigate the charge made by Veeresh,” Kumar told HT.

Meanwhile, Pradeep, RSS spokesperson in Agra, denied the allegations, terming it a “conspiracy to defame the organisation”. “There is no pracharak by the name Rajveer Singh or ‘Guruji’ in any of the sections of RSS in Braj ‘prant’. It is a planned attempt to malign the image of the body,” he said.

Veeresh was a trusted lieutenant of Ram Vriksh and was absconding after the clash between police and a group of armed squatters in Mathura. A cash reward of `5,000 was declared on his head, which was later increased to `15,000.

It may be noted that a few leaders of the ruling Samajwadi Party have been blamed for giving political patronage to Ram Vriksh, who had been illegally occupying Jawahar Bagh since March 2014. Of all the opposition parties, BJP has been the most vocal in its criticism. Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav was forced to deny having any connection with Ram Vriksh during his Mathura visit.
