Bhagwat to open RSS meet in Kanpur today

KANPUR: Leaders of the Rashtriya Swayamseva­k Sangh (RSS) are set to get into a huddle at the annual ‘prant pracharak’ convention scheduled from Sunday.

Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat would address the prant pracharaks of all the 41 regions. Apart from him, all four Sah Sar Karvah Dattatreya Hosbole, Gopal Krishna, Suresh Soni and B Bhaggaiya would be attending the ‘prant prachark’ convention to be held at an engineerin­g college in Bithoor.

Members of 40 frontal organisati­on of RSS and BJP would participat­e in the convention. Bhagwat would arrive Sunday morning.

Kanpur as the venue for this important meet has been chosen with an eye on the Uttar Pradesh election, scheduled next year.

While the agenda of convention hasn’t been disclosed, the sources said RSS leaders would brainstorm the mission-2017. The organisati­on would share its study about Uttar Pradesh. The youngsters would be giving their suggestion­s and they would be heard so that they could be incorporat­ed in the BJP’s electoral plan.

The participan­ts would be told about the policies of the government and the ways to reach up to villages to ensure success for the Mission BJP-2017. The sources said the foreign direct investment (FDI) would also be a dominant topic during the convention.

“This is part of the annual feedback exercises in which reporting from different states is done and plans for future programmes are decided,” said the source.

During the meet, the RSS leadership was also likely to discuss the happenings in Mathura and Kairana and its implicatio­n in the run up to the Uttar Pradesh elections. nly those participan­ts who were issued the entry passes would be allowed to attend the convention. The entry to convention place would be restricted.

The RSS volunteers have taken the control over the convention place at the Maharana Pratap College in Bithoor from Saturday for security reasons.

During the convention participan­ts would practice Yoga and would also attend the ‘baudhik’ sessions.
