RSS meet begins, agenda to be discussed today
The closed door sessions of the six-day annual meeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) began here on Sunday late evening.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and all the second line RSS leaders, including Suresh Soni, Gopal Krishna, Dattatreya Hasbole, B Bhagayyia and others, arrived here at the Maharana Pratap Group of Institution at Mandhana, the convention venue.
Sources said all these leaders met during the day for a long session and reportedly deliberated upon decisions taken at the RSS national convention in Nagpur.
The samagam is being held amidst tight security arrangements made by the district administration and the RSS volunteers as well.
No non-pass-holder was allowed to enter the college premises. According to Sangh sources, this was the routine Prashikshan Varg Samagam (convention for training the Sangh pracharaks). Such convention, as per the rules of the Sangh, is held every five years for the Sangh Pracharak of every level.
Sources said the agenda for the Prashikshan Varg Samagam (training convention) would be decided on Monday (July 11) at the meeting of Sangh leaders.
Since the convention was being held in the state during the election time, people especially the political leaders gave it importance and viewed it differently, the RSS sources said.
It is believed that the senior leaders would determine the role of members of the core organisations of the Sangh in assisting BJP in the elections of UP, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand.
