Even IS will not make statement like one by BSP men: Rahul Mahajan
Rahul Mahajan, son of the late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, on Saturday stated that even the IS and terrorists in Pakistan would not make such a statement as the one by BSP supporters against expelled BJP leader Dayashankar Singh’s daughter at a protest rally in Lucknow on July 21.
Mahajan, who came to Lucknow on Saturday to extend support to Swati Singh, wife of Dayashankar Singh, was referring to the slogan ‘Daya Shankar apni beti pesh karo’ (Dayashankar present your daughter before us).
“Even the dreaded terrorist organisation IS will not make such a statement. Terrorists in Pakistan also will not make such a demand,” Mahajan told journalists here on Saturday.
Swati Singh was also scheduled to attend the press conference with Rahul Mahajan, but had to rush back home to attend her ailing daughter.
“It is a disgrace to democracy,” said Mahajan while referring to statements made at the BSP’s protest rally.
Without naming any political party or any politician, Mahajan also demanded imposition of Posco Act on BSP leaders for making a derogatory statement against Daya Shankar Singh’s wife and daughter.
“I am not here to stage any demonstration or to hold a public meeting. I have pledged legal support to Swati Singh. I will press for imposition of Posco on those who had made a derogatory statement against Swati Singh and her minor daughter,” said Mahajan.
“We are consulting senior lawyers,” he added.
Mahajan ruled out joining any political party.
When asked about cases of domestic violence pending against him, Mahajan said: “No case is pending against me in any court.”
He also advocated stern action against Dayashankar Singh for making a derogatory statement against Mayawati.
