Jugnoo forays into city with fares @ Rs 3/km

-

Jugnoo, an on-demand auto-rickshaw aggregator in India, has ventured into Lucknow. Now fully operational in the city, Jugnoo has empanelled over 250 autos making local travel easier and smoother like never before. Also, with a base fare of `10 and a per kilometre charge of ` 3, it is now one of the most affordable means of public transport in the region.

Elaborating on the background story that drove Jugnoo’s venture into Lucknow, Samar Singla, founder and CEO, Jugnoo commented, “Lucknow being the largest city in Uttar Pradesh, our foray into the city was not uncalled for. As compared to the vastness of the city, the public transport availability is relatively low. Consequently, there is a constant rise in the number of privately owned vehicles, be it cars or two wheelers, adding to road congestion and poor air quality of the city”.

“CNG was introduced as an auto fuel to keep air pollution under control and we aim at standardizing the auto rickshaw services. With this launch, we hope to assist the city not only in pollution control but also in countering the worsening parking issue,” He added. With a firm finger on most critical matters the city faces, Jugnoo is certain of easing the public transportation woes and related issues with the launch of its services in Lucknow. Established in 2014, this Chandigarh-based company has ventured into the industry as one of the leading auto-rickshaw aggregators with 35,000 people transacting per day, at a very nascent stage. It is a mobile app offering one of the largest networks of auto-rickshaws in India. It has over 12,000 autos empanelled under the brand at present. Jugnoo has its presence in 35 cities.

Founded by Samar Singla and Chinmay Agarwal, the company is targeting students, working professionals and masses dependent on public transport for their daily conveyance.
