Three rural housing project directors suspended
The state government on Wednesday suspended three project directors, class one officers of the rural development department, for poor implementation of the rural housing schemes in the districts under them.
Principal secretary, rural development, Deepak Trivedi issued the orders putting all the three officials under suspension for dereliction of duty with immediate effect within hours of chief minister Akhilesh Yadav approving action against them.
The suspended officials are project director, district rural development agency, Lucknow Abhimanyu Singh, project director, rural development agency, Ghazipur Ram Singh and project director, rural development agency, Balia PK Yadav.
During a review meeting that was presided over by Trivedi last week, these three officials were found to be the worst performers with regard to the implementation of the state’s own Lohiya Gramin Awas Yojana and the Centrally-funded Indira Gandhi Awas Yojana, the two prominent housing schemes for the rural poor.
“It was found during the review meet that the project directors of Lucknow, Ghazipur and Balia had transferred the least amount of funds to beneficiaries’ bank accounts under the two rural housing schemes for 2015-16, depriving the poor of a house,” Trivedi told the HT.
THESE THREE OFFICIALS WERE FOUND TO BE THE WORST PERFORMERS WITH REGARD TO LOHIYA GRAMIN AWAS YOJANA AND INDIRA GANDHI AWAS YOJANA
