Mohanlalganj projects: Show-cause notice issued to two officials for laxity
LUCKNOW: On finding the ongoing construction work in Mohanlalganj tehsil as substandard, district magistrate on Tuesday issued show-cause notices to junior engineer (JE) and project manager of the construction agency engaged in the work. Besides, DM also ordered to black list the contractor and recover 5 percent from the total payment made to him.
DM’s action came after a surprise check which he conducted on Monday to assess the quality of the ongoing projects in Mohanlalganj. The projects were being carried out by MPLAD funds. “Show cause notices have been served to the JE and project manager of the construction agency and we have blacklisted the contractor for using sub-standard building material,” said Raj Shekhar, district magistrate.

work of interlocking tiles and one CC road construction site. Officials said irregularities were found in almost all the projects that were being carried out by Uttar Pradesh Grameen Awaas Vikas Parishad.
As per the findings of the officers, the interlocking road was uneven, stone ballast used in the construction of CC road was not of prescribed size, the thickness of the crust was found less besides other irregularities.
“Construction work was found dissatisfactory. We have ordered a deduction of 5 percent from the total payment made to the contractor. The fining amount is to be deposited in next 15 days otherwise legal action will be initiated,” added Shekhar.
