Bulanshahr gang rape accused demand narco test

MEERUT: The accused in Bulandshah­r gang rape case have pleaded not guilty and demanded a narco analysis test be done on them to ensure a fair investigat­ion in the case.

The CBI officials presented prime accused Saleem (who was earlier identified as Saleem Bawaria) and his two aides in the fast track court on Tuesday afternoon after completion of their remand.

The accused told judge that they were not involved in the crime and that the police had falsely implicated them. "All three accused demanded for their narco test," said Manju Sharma, lawyer of the accused.

Sharma also pleaded that the CBI should be directed to present ornaments recovered from the spot and possession of the accused. "It should be found out if these ornaments belong to victims," she said adding the court had directed the CBI to submit the recovered ornaments on Wednesday.

The CBI officials informed the court that the ornaments were in safe custody and it would be submitted for examinatio­n on Wednesday. Police had arrested Saleem and his two aides along with three other accused in the case and they were booked on charges of committing gang rape and loot with a Noida based family on July 29 on a highway near Bulanshahr.

Later, the Allahabad High Court had ordered a CBI inquiry into the case, following which CBI officials took custody of the prime accused Saleem and his two aides on August 19. They were taken to the spot for investigat­ion. The CBI officials also met the victims` family in Noida during their investigat­ion.
