Over `4,000 crore sought for power, farm sectors

LUCKNOW: Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has sought 2115.44 crore for implementa­tion of schemes/projects in the power sector and `2000 crore to provide assistance to farmers whose crops were damaged by hailstorm.

For the power sector, an additional `1499.29 crore was demanded for various payments, subsidy to UPPCL for amount received as securities under the UDAY scheme. An amount of `100 crore has been demanded for expansion and strengthen­ing of major airstrips in the state. An additional `10 crore has been sought for underwriti­ng to launch air services to Agra and Varanasi.

A sum of `143 crore has been demanded for preparatio­n of electoral rolls, storage of electronic voting machines, training of staff and printing of electoral rolls. Also, `25 lakh has been sought for cashless medical treatment facility for treatment of serious ailments to state government employees.

A sum of `162.78 crore has been demanded by tge law department. The demands include additional sum of `40 crore needed to digitise records of Allahabad high court in Allahabad and Lucknow. An additional amount of `300 crore has been earmarked for Lohia Rural Housing scheme. A sum of `200 crore more has been demanded for Prime Minister’s housing scheme for constructi­on of houses in the rural areas.

Besides,`20 crore has been sought to strengthen health services in collaborat­ion with Bill and Milinda Gates Foundation in Sitapur. A sum of `15 crore has been earmarked for renovation and beautifica­tion of Jawaharbag­h’s horticultu­re garden. An amount of `150 crore has been given for constructi­on work and payment of salaries at Rural Institute of medical Sciences, Safai in Etawah. A sum of `32 crore has been earmarked for loan to the PCDF to set up a milk powder plant. An amount of `12 crore has been demanded for lamination of ration cards. Plus, `40 crore has been sought to provide pension to dependents of freedom fighters under the Swatantrat­a Sainik Samman Pension Yojana.

An additional Rs 20 crore has been demanded for constructi­on of towers for the Civil Service Institute.

Similarly, `100 crore has been demanded for completion of Agra Inner Ring Road project and for waiver of interest on the loan given to Agra Developmen­t Authority to complete the project.

Additional amount of `40 crore has been demanded for setting up of Jai Prakash Narain Internatio­nal Centre at Gomti Nagar in Lucknow.

A sum of `5 crore has been given to run the Samajwadi Yuva Sva Rozgar Yojana (Samajwadi self-employment scheme) while additional amount of `64 crore has been given for setting up of Carpet Market in Bhadohi.

A sum of `100 crore has been demanded for setting up of perfume park and museum project in Kannauj. A token sum of Rs 1 crore has been sought to solve the problems concerning the NRIs.

An amount of `16.94 crore has been demanded to provide loan to UPDESCO to set up Electronic Manufactur­ing Cluster in Greater NOIDA region.
