Funding for undergraduate, PG and research courses in Mexico
The Embassy of Mexico is inviting applications for the 2017 Mexican Government Scholarship Programme for International Students.
These scholarships, which are offered to more than 180 countries through a series of bilateral conventions, multilateral programmes and special agreements, are oriented to international students interested in pursuing a specialisation, master’s degree or doctorate, conducting graduatelevel research, or taking part in an undergraduate or graduate-level academic mobility programme in Mexico.
The scholarships are awarded annually for the following: undergraduate and graduate mobility programmes which include one academic term (quarter, trimester or semester), graduate-level research and postdoctoral fellowships for 12 months (one month minimum), master’s degrees (two years), specialisations (one year), doctorates (three or four years according to the programme) and medical specialisations and subspecialisations (three years).
More than 90 Mexican institutions of higher education participate and all offer academic programmes registered with the National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT) in the National Programme of Quality Graduate Degrees. These programmes demonstrate the progress made by Mexico in various areas of the sciences and humanities. The scholarship benefits include: monthly stipend of four times the minimum salary in Mexico City for undergraduate mobility scholarships, specialisations, master’s degrees or master’s level research, Spanish language or Mexican culture courses, currently the equivalent of $502.32 (`33,000 approximately).
Applicants are also eligible for a monthly stipend of five times the minimum salary in Mexico City for doctoral studies and research, postdoctoral fellowships and medical specialisations and subspecialisations, currently the equivalent of $627.90 (`42,000 approximately).
