Son of a prominent industrialist in Firozabad was strangulated to death by kidnappers and his body was found from a canal in Firozabad on Thursday. Two of the abductors, including a friend of the victim, were arrested by the police. They had asked for gold worth `10 crore as ransom for releasing the youth.

The victim, Aditya Mittal, 25 was son of industrialist Atul Mittal. The family resided on Circular Road in Rasoolpur locality of Firozabad. Aditya had gone to Orchid Green, a gym at Raja Ka Tal locality on August 22 morning along with his friend Rohan Singhal, a known builder of Firozabad.

After that, Rohan along with his brother Pawan Singhal and friend Arjun Viz took Aditya to Karamyogi Tower on Jalesar road and kidnapped him.

These accused then intoxicated Aditya with an injection. Pawan Singh, a contractor hired by Rohan, was also called on the spot for the abduction.

Later, Rohan called up Aditya’s uncle Pammi Mittal and asked for `10 crore ransom in the form of 30 kg gold.

The family members kept the matter secret, but informed the police and a case was registered at Tundla police station against Rohan Singhal, Pawan Singhal and Arjun Viz on August 24. Meanwhile, the cops kept working on the case secretly.

Aditya’s family members were asking kidnappers to allow them to talk to Aditya but as he was unconscious, the kidnappers were not able to bring him on the phone and finally they killed Aditya fearing arrest on being identified.

The accused had been friends with Aditya for the last three months and had planned the abduction two months ago, knowing that he was son of a rich man.

“Two of the accused – Rohan Singhal and Pawan Singh, a contractor hired by Rohan Singhal – have been arrested and the search is on for others including Pawan Singhal, Arun Viz and others involved,” said Ashok Kumar SP (Firozabad) on Friday.
