Woman shot at during roadside loot in Nagram

-

LUCKNOW:A 28-year-old woman was critically injured while trying to save her husband when two armed miscreants opened fire on the couple on resisting loot attempt. The incident took place in Nagram village on the outskirts on Wednesday evening. The woman suffered a bullet injury in the stomach and was undergoing treatment at KGMU’s Trauma Centre.

Rampher, 32, and his wife Janaki Devi, 28, residents of Gosainganj’s Razzakpur village, along with their 10-year-old son were going to their relative’s place in Nagram at around 4pm. Rampher told the cops that two bike-borne miscreants intercepted his bike on a deserted stretch near Harhari village and took all of them at gunpoint.

“The couple resisted when the miscreants tried to snatch Rampher’s gold chain. They pulled down one of the miscreants. The other miscreant opened fire on the couple. The woman came in front of her husband after spotting the miscreants pulling the trigger,” said a sub-inspector of Nagram police station.

As the woman slumped after being shot at, the miscreants snatched Rampher’s gold chain and fled, said the police.

Rampher rushed his wife to the trauma centre with the help of the locals and informed the cops about the incident. The doctors had operated on the woman but her condition was critical till Wednesday night.
