Group clash: Cousins shot at, one critical
Two cousins suffered bullet injuries in a clash between two groups over the supremacy in real estate business in Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT) area on Thursday morning.
One of the victims suffered a bullet injury in head and was admitted to a private hospital in critical condition. The police arrested five people and charged them under section 307 (attempt to murder) in the FIR.
The two injured were identified as Ashish Yadav and Viresh Yadav of BKT’s Rudahi village involved in property dealing and construction business.
They had a dispute with another group led by one Ali of adjoining Bholapurwa village for the past many months. Both the groups wanted to maintain their supremacy in property dealing business in the area.
Viresh told the cops that Ali along with his three sons and about 15-20 supporters attacked him and his cousin when they were sitting at their shop on Sitapur road at around 10:30am. He said they tried to pull down the shop’s shutter after spotting Ali approaching them along with his supporters who were allegedly equipped with swords, iron rods and firearms.
The attackers however pulled out Ashish from his shop and attacked him with iron rods. Viresh was also beaten up while trying to rescue Ashish. “The attackers opened fire on us when Ashish and I tried to run away. Ashish fell on the ground after suffering a bullet injury in head while I suffered an injury on the shoulder,” said Viresh.
Sources said the Yadavs had earlier attacked Ali and his family near the bicycle stand three days ago and FIR was registered against them and this incident was held in retaliation to the previous incident.
Vijay Shankar Yadav, station officer, BKT police station said that Viresh had lodged an FIR of attempt to murder and criminal trespass against Ali, his sons, three other family members and nearly 15 unidentified people. He added that Ali, his sons Rahees, Asif and Munna and a close aide Suraj have been arrested.
