Fear of failure. Fear of regret. Fear of society. Fear of success — all of us face several phobias. For some, these are frightening and life comes to a standstill. There’s an endless list of fears that the human mind faces; as awareness increases so do its repercussions. When we hug our fears close to us, we end up cocooned in our comfort zone, never mustering the courage to think about what we want. But when we free ourselves of these fears, we soar high.

It’s simple to write or think about our fears. In our heart of hearts, everyone knows their shortcomings, but it takes courage to admit it, and that it is only fear that’s holding one back. However, this big step is only halfway towards breaking the chains of fear and self doubt.

A first step is to decide to break free from these chains. Choose to conquer your fears and then you’ll feel the difference in you; or live with regret because you weren’t strong enough to make that choice.

The second step is identifying the road to success. Chalk out a plan that will get you to your goal and stick to it. There will be hiccups and troubles but hold your head high and work hard towards your goal.

The third step is to keep trying till you reach the altar where you realise the fruits of the first two steps. That is perhaps the best present you could give yourself which far outweighs the sacrifices you have made to feed the fires of hard work and passion.

Does your journey end there? Far from it! You are yet to see what a new person you have become. You are more confident and decisive, and have started to love life in a new way. From here starts an inspired life. This is only the beginning.
