Priyan helps UPCA ‘Red’ enter final

A sparkling halfcentur­y by Priyan Garg and deadly spells by Sameer and Shiva Singh helped UPCA ‘Red’ enter final of the All-India Cricket Tournament, outplaying Cricket Associatio­n Lucknow (CAL) by 92 runs in Meerut on Monday.

Priyan’s 70 in 83 balls contained six hits to the fence and two boundaries as UPCA ‘Red’ scored 189 in 44.4 overs. Later Sameer (4/4) and Shiva (4/15) kept CAL batsmen in trouble before bundling them for 97 in 29 overs. Now, the winners take on Haryana Cricket Associatio­n in the final on Tuesday. POINTS SPLIT
