Peace Party, Mahaan Dal and Nirbal Indian Shoshit Hamara Aam Dal (NISHAD) came together on a platform at a rally in Lucknow to announce the formation of a new front - Alliance for Empowerment of Native Indians (AENI). Speakers at the gathering of about 25,000 people at Rama Bai Rally Maidan gave the slogan ‘sarkar banao, adhikar pao’ and urged the Dalits, Muslims and the OBCs to unite to wrest political power from political parties that had taken them for granted.

In his vitriolic speech, Peace Party president Dr Ayub said those who labelled the Muslims as foreigners should first get a DNA test performed on themselves to prove that they were native Indians. “All mainstream political parties have treated Muslims as a vote bank for the past 70 years. But I will not allow this trend to continue,” he said adding that the ruling Samajwadi Party was a party of Yadavs only. Both BJP and SP shared a symbiotic relationship and fanned communal tension and riots to polarise the electorate on communal lines,” he said.

Mahaan Dal president Keshav Deo Maurya said both these parties were responsible for spreading hatred and indulged in divisive and communal politics to suit their own political agenda. NISHAD president Sanjay Nishad termed the Congress corrupt. He said the BSP only spoke about the Dalits and in the same manner BJP and SP worked for the Hindus and the Muslims, respectively to further their own agenda.

The leaders said a large number of rural youths were jobless and unemployment was a major problem in the state. They urged people to fight for their rights and vote for the front, which was an alliance of deprived sections of the society, to realise their aspiration.
