Delhi Dynamos beat Assyriska BK in pre-season tie

ISL outfit Delhi Dynamos signed off their pre-season campaign in Sweden with a 3-2 victory over local club Assyriska BK. Marquee player Florent Malouda, Kean Lewis and Arjun Tudu were on target during their final game, a tour where they remained undefeated. The Lions drew the first blood in 36th minute as Marcelo stepped up to take the resultant free-kick and his inch perfect delivery found skipper Malouda at the far post, who made no mistake with his header. NEW DELHI: Sachin Desai guided his team to bronze medal in the junior men 4km team pursuit of the Track Asia Cup on Thursday. Kazakhasta­n claimed gold while United Arab Emirates bagged silver. India’s second bronze medal came through Sanuraj P in the junior 1km time trial event. Hong Kong’s Chun Law won the gold and silver went to Muhammad Danieal Haikkal from Malaysia.

TALENT IDENTIFICA­TION PORTAL

NEW DELHI: Sports Ministry will launch a Talent Identifica­tion Portal soon to assist all the budding sportspers­ons, Sports Minister Vijay Goel announced. “Plan is to get this portal ready in a month. Once ready, players need not to come to Delhi or main centres all they will have to do is to upload their performanc­es or achievemen­ts online and we will find them,” he said. Once selected the players will be attached to SAI’s various training centres.
