BHU prof invited to White House meet

A Banaras Hindu University (BHU) professor has been invited by US President Barack Obama to attend a meeting on peace and inter-faith understanding at the White House. Dr Rajesh Singh, the BHU public relations officer, said Prof Priyankar Upadhyay would represent the BHU at the White House meeting. The event is slated for September 23. He will also deliver a lecture as a distinguished speaker at the Berkeley Centre for Religion, Peace and Global Affairs, University of Georgetown, Washington DC, on September 22. The community campus initiative is being managed and organised by the White House and the US state department. Banaras Hindu University vicechancellor Prof GC Tripathi has congratulated Upadhyay.
