MUZAFFARNAGAR: DM Dinesh Kumar Singh ordered a magisterial probe into the Ghasipura village case wherein three suspected gangsters allegedly ended their lives in a house when they were surrounded by the police.

Family members and relatives of the three deceased on Friday met SSP Deepak Kumar who assured them of fair probe into the matter.

On September 21-22 night, SHO Mansoorpur Ambreesh Baghel had surrounded a house in Ghasipura after after getting information about the presence of some suspected gangsters there. He sought extra police force when the miscreants allegedly opened fire at the police.

The SSP reached the spot and asked the trio to surrender before the police.

When cops did not get any response from them, the SSP summoned a forensic team and in the presence of SDM, police entered the house where they claimed to have found the bodies of three suspected gangsters.

Later, SSP Deepak Kumar informed the media that probably the three gangsters had ended their lives by shooting themselves, when they were surrounded by the police.

Cops ascertained the identities of the three persons as Gaurav of village Malendi (Shamli district), Sachin of village Badarkha (Baghpat district) and Deepak Rathi also from Baghpat.

Around 10 pm on Thursday, some villagers along with Trilok Singh, father of Gaurav, reached the Mansoorpur police station and refused to buy the police theory of suicide by his son. He lodged a written complaint against Mansoorpur police, alleging that his son was killed under pressure of a political leader of Shamli.

On Friday, family members of Sachin and Deepak also met the SSP, who assured them of fair probe into the matter. SSP Deepak Kumar sent a written request to the district magistrate to set up a magisterial probe into the matter. The DM deputed ADM (administration) Manoj Singh to initiate a magisterial probe into the case.
