Spurt in dengue cases in state

The state capital reported 10 fresh cases of dengue along with 50 suspected cases on Friday. Also, two casualties were reported from Gosaiganj and Sadatganj of people undergoing treatment for high fever. A 45-year-old woman died in Gosaiganj while a minor girl died in Sadatganj.

Apart from these, over 100 people reportedly died during the treatment for dengue and high fever. Doctors have warned people to avoid self-medication in case of fever. They said that if high fever persists for over a day, one must consult a doctor for proper medication. “Dose of medicine will depend upon individual hence one must consult doctor for it,” said Dr Vinod Jain, a public health expert.
