BJP unstoppable in UP as huge drama on in SP: Rudy

MUMBAI: With the Samajwadi Party (SP) embroiled in a “huge drama”, no force can stop the BJP from forming the government in Uttar Pradesh next year, Union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy claimed here today. “Our campaigning for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election is on. Mulayam Singh Yadav) party. So, no force can stop us from forming the government in that state,” the union minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship told reporters on the sidelines of an event here.

Assembly election is due in Uttar Pradesh early next year. A family feud had broken out in the ruling party in Uttar Pradesh recently over the sacking of two ministers, considered close to Mulayam’s brother and state minister Shivpal Yadav, by chief minister Akhilesh Yadav who had also stripped his uncle Shivpal, who is also the SP’s state unit chief, of key portfolios.

Mulayam struggled to put a lid on the internecine conflict and the feud reportedly caused a heartburn among the SP cadre, believed to be divided between Akhilesh and Shivpal camps. Rudy was in the city to launch a Skill Development Plan of the Maharashtra government.

On the occasion, he elaborated on various skill development initiatives undertaken by the Centre.

He said the government would launch training institutes for drivers in “each and every district of the country” to produce “world-class” drivers. “Around 22 lakh trained youths are needed to operate various kinds of vehicles in the country. Thus, we have decided to open driver-training institutes in every district of the country. This will also give a boost to Prime Minister’s Skill Development Mission,” Rudy said.

He appealed to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who was also present on the occasion, to open such institutes in all the districts of Maharashtra. “I request the chief minister to open such training institutes in all the districts of the state. They will not only train the drivers for the country, but will also fulfil

the requirement of drivers across the world by teaching them French, Chinese and English languages,” Rudy said.

HE APPEALED TO CHIEF MINISTER DEVENDRA FADNAVIS, WHO WAS ALSO PRESENT ON THE OCCASION, TO OPEN SUCH INSTITUTES IN ALL THE DISTRICTS OF MAHARASHTRA.
