IOC, AI notch up identical wins, enter semis
Favourites Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Air India (AI) stormed into the semi-finals of the 36th All-India KD Singh ‘Babu’ Hockey Tournament, notching up identical wins, at the Majy Dhyan Chand Stadium here on Wednesday.
Chandan Singh and Bharat struck in the second half as IOC beat Sports Authority of India, Bhopal 2-0, whereas Usfurehman and Neetesh Koro netted a goal each as Air India beat Indian Air Force also by 2-0. In the semi-finals on Thursday, Air India take on ONGC at 1.00 p.m., whereas IOC take on SCR, Secunderabad at 3.00 p.m. EASY WIN LPS scored a convincing 3-0 win against St Clears in the Avinsh Chandra Chaturvedi Memorial Inter-School Football Tournament here on Wednesday. In other matches of the day, Unity beat CMS (Kanpur Road) 4-0, and Maharaja Agrasen beat LPC 1-0.
