FIR lodged in alleged leak of excise constable examinatio­n papers

An FIR of fraud and forgery was lodged against unidentifi­ed officials and employees of Uttar Pradesh Subordinat­e Service Selection Commission (UPSSSC) on Friday for alleged leak of test papers of excise constable exam held on September 25, 2016.

The FIR was registered with Vibhuti Khand police station on a city court’s direction on the complaint of senior IPS officer Amitabh Thakur in the matter.

Kunwar Prabhat Singh, inspector of Vibhuti Khand police station said the FIR was registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections of impersonat­ion, fraud, forgery and criminal conspiracy. He said the section 66 IT Act had also been included in the FIR registered against unknown UPSCCC officials and employees.

The FIR was registered in compliance of the order given by chief judicial magistrate, Lucknow, Sandhya Srivastava. He said the order was issued on the complaint of IPS officer Amitabh Thakur, who had alleged leak of test papers of second session of excise constable exam.

Singh said the complaint read that test paper was leaked nearly 40 minutes before the start of the examinatio­n at 1.30pm on September 25.

He said the papers were shared on WhatsApp to selected people. The complainan­t had alleged the issue was raised immediatel­y but no action was taken due to high level political pressure, he added.
