Post basic B Sc (nursing) course launched

Major General Sushila Shahi, additional director general (ADG) Military Nursing Service, launched a post basic B Sc (nursing) course in College of Nursing, Command Hospital, Central Command, Lucknow Cantonment on Saturday.

The post basic BSc nursing course is a bridge course for diploma nurses to become graduate which will provide ample opportunit­ies to advance in their profession.

The first batch commenced from this academic session with an intake of 15 nursing officers. Major General Sushila Shahi congratula­ted Colonel Leena Kumari PR and all faculty members on the achievemen­t and encouraged the students to imbibe the qualities of good workmanshi­p with technical competence and develop empathy for being good nurses, upholding the motto of the Military Nursing Service “Service with Smile”.

Colonel Leena Kumari PR, principal, delivered the welcome address. Senior officers and nursing officers were also present.

Under the dynamic leadership and vision of Major General Vibha Dutta, Commandant, Command Hospital, Central Command, Lucknow, the college has achieved a milestone with the start of post basic B Sc (Nursing) course.

The programme is run as per the directives of the Indian Nursing Council and King George Medical University, Lucknow. The mission of the institutio­n is to prepare profession­ally excellent, clinically competent and compassion­ate nurses.
