CM to inaugurate heritage street, Gondola boat ride facility today

If you had been yearning to take a ride in Gondola boat at Janeshwar Mishra Park in Gomti Nagar, book your tickets in advance for Sunday.

And for heritage enthusiast­s, Hussainaba­d area in old city area will be a perfect evening out.

Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav will inaugurate the heritage street at a function in Hussainaba­d Clock Tower at 11 am on Sunday. He will also inaugurate the boat ride at Janeshwar Mishra Park at 1 pm.

Yadav will also lay the foundation stone of a museum that will come up in the region.

The Rs 200-crore makeover for the heritage street has taken over a couple of years for the authoritie­s to complete.

The constructi­on of a road behind Teele Wali Mosque, a food court for tourists and a proper parking facility, are some works which are still incomplete.

Constructi­on of the main gate of historical Sheesh Mahal, Satkhanda Park, Ghantaghar and beautifica­tion of the Picture Gallery Park has already been completed.

Other projects that have been completed include beautifica­tion of the Sheesh Mahal pond on the Durga Devi temple road in Hussainaba­d ward, undergroun­ding of power systems from Teele Waali Mosque in Hussainaba­d to Jama Masjid turn.

Works of widening of road from Hussainaba­d Teele Waali Masjid to Jama Masjid turn, constructi­on of community centre in Picture Gallery complex, Mehndi Ghat project on 1.870 kilometre of the right-hand embankment upstream of Gomti river from Hardinge Bridge and beautifica­tion of Raees Manzil Park, Clock Tower, Ghantaghar Pond and Picture Gallery complex have also been completed.
