Lucknow girl bags third position in ICSI exam

-

Lucknow girl Eti Agarwal, 24, secured the third position in the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) examination, the results of which were declared on Saturday.

Eti had also emerged as a topper of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), which declared the results of CA final examination in January.

Talking to HT Eti said, “I was expecting myself among top ten rank holders in India in the examination. I am glad that I managed the third position.”

However, with lots of options in hand, Eti will not take up company secretaryship as a career. “I am planning to do consultancy in taxation and join a firm very soon. I will take up chartered accountancy as my career.”

Daughter of a chartered accountant, Eti feels that commerce is no longer a subject for weak students. She said, “Gone are the days when science was meant for bright students and commerce for the weaker ones. These days commerce has a wide variety of options for students including CA, CS and even graduation from reputed colleges.”

Eti has always emerged as a topper in whatever she has undertaken. A Bharatnatyam dancer, Eti had secured the All India Rank 1 at the IPCE in November 2013. Prior to that, she had topped the ISC examination 2011 from Lucknow’s prestigious La Martiniere Girls’ College She enjoys creative activities such as painting.
