Inappropriate activities of two Thailand nationals, who are pursuing studies in a renowned Islamic seminary here but are addicted to substance abuse, triggered tension in a Hasanganj locality here on Thursday evening.
The police said the duo was addicted to drinking Corex. Under its influence, the two youths were sitting near a temple close to Pucca Pul when their unruly behaviour made some people suspicious.
Some Hindu Yuva vahini activists also reached the spot and the situation became tense. The locals then handed over the youths to police after bashing them up.
Some mischievous elements, however, circulated a fake message about arrest of two youths associated to a terror outfit.
The false message on social media created panic and heavy police force was called to avert any further trouble in the area.
“The two youths— Mura and

He said the youths’ involvement in any other anti-social activities had not been found so far. He said the authorities of Nadwa had been informed about the youths for further disciplinary action against them.
SSP Manzil Saini said the police were probing about people who tried to disturb law and order by spreading false rumours.
