Grand welcome awaits CM at Gorakhnath temple
A rousing welcome will be accorded to new UP chief minister, Aditya Nath Yogi, when he visits Gorakhpur-- his parliamentary constituency-- first time after taking over the reins of country’s most populous state, on March 25.
Besides huge posters and banners which have been put across the city to greet the CM, special preparations have also been made at the Gorakhnath temple where Yogi is the chief priest. The temple has been decorated with flowers and balloons in addition to saffron flags.
Artificial gates have also been erected between the Gorakhpur airport and the temple in his honour.
“On his maiden visit here after taking over as the CM, he will be accorded grand welcome by party workers and residents,” said district BJP spokesperson Satyendra Sinha.
“After a long time, the state has got a CM from Gorakhpur. So everyone here is excited over Yogi’s appointment,” said Singh while making a mention of former CM Vir Bahadur Singh who also hailed from Gorakhpur. Sinha said sweet in huge quantity had also been made to distribute as prasad among people on the day. The CM will be felicitated by different socio culture organisations at Maharana Pratap PG College on Saturday evening. On March 26, Yogi will take part in the centenary year birth celebrations of Baba Gambheer Nath, a prominent Nath sect saint. The CM will fly back to the state capital the same day.
