Tanisha continues her winning streak in tennis
LUCKNOW : Tanisha Pranjal continued her winning streak in the AITA Talent Series Tennis Tournament even on Thursday, making it to the finals of both under-16 and 14 in girls sections, at the Vijayantkhand Stadium here.
Top seed Tanisha outplayed Kalpana Kumari 6-1, 6-1 to set up a title clash with Tanushree Pandey, who defeated Gargi Das 6-2, 6-2 in other semi-final in under-16 category.
Her winning streak didn’t stop here as in the under-14 category semi-finals, she defeated Meenal Singh 6-0, 6-1. Now, she takes on third seed Gargi Das, who defeated Tanushree Pandey 6-4, 2-6, 6-2. Energetic Vansh Yadav matched Tanisha in the boys category as he too made it to the finals of both under-16 and 14 sections. Vansh defeated Daksh Singh 6-2, 6-4 in the first semi-final, whereas top seed Vaibhav Singh Bisht beat Umakant Singh 6-2, 6-3 in the second semi-final.
In the under-14 category, Vansh defeated Vatsal Srivastava 6-1, 6-1, whereas Daksh Singh beat Lakshya Tikoo 6-2, 6-4 in the second semi-final. Finals start at 7.00 a.m. on Friday.

Lalit Kumar smashed an unbeaten century as ASCA Red scored a thrilling 16-run win against hosts Yorker Cricket Club in a league match of the Under-14 Yorker Trophy Cricket Tournament, at the Christian College Ground here on Friday. Lalit’s 100 came off 96 balls with the help of 15 fours as ASCA Red piled up 218 for six in 40 overs. Yuvraj Singh made 35 with the help of four fours. Tushar Yadav and Vikas Yadav shared four wickets between them.
In reply, YCC despite having a poor start were cruising well at one time before falling at 202 in 38.4 overs. Abhishek Roshan made 95 in 86 balls with the help of 17 fours and a six. Yuvraj Singh bagged four for 45, whereas Sankalp Jain took two for 17.
