-

LUCKNOW: The city police, on Monday, lodged a complaint against a youth on the charges of shooting a woman’s obscene video and extorting ₹13.39 lakh from her after threatening to make the video public.

The accused, Fahim,22, is a native of Sarfarazganj, under Thakurganj police station, and the 30-year-old victim was a tenant at his residence. The woman was residing at the first floor of the house along with her four children while the accused, Fahim was living on the ground floor with his parents.

The woman’s husband was working in a private firm in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia. Recently, he returned after three years.

The police have also lodged a case against Parvez Ahmad, father of the accused. According to reports, Fahim clandestinely shot the woman’s obscene video and started blackmailing her. The accused started extorting money from the woman after threatening to make the video public on social media.

Fahim was aware that the woman’s husband used to regularly deposit money in her wife’s bank account. This blackmailing continued for three years and over this period, Fahim exported Rs 13.39 lakh from the woman in several instalments. It was in February this year, when the woman’s husband returned and she informed him about the entire incident.

Fearing social stigma, the husband and wife duo did not approach police and made several efforts to get back the money. However, when all efforts failed, the couple approached Thakurganj police on Monday and lodge a complaint against Fahim and his father. The woman has also accused Parvez Ahmad of helping his son in extorting money.

Raghvan Kumar Singh, station officer, Thakurganj, informed that a case has been lodged against Fahim and his father. “Investigatiion is on. Laptop and mobile phones of the accused have been seized to trace out the video,” said Singh.
