JHANSI: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday declared that Bundelkhand would soon be connected directly with Delhi through a six-lane highway.

Addressing party workers and legislators at the Paramedical College ground here after a review meeting at Vikas Bhavan, the chief minister said the direct road connectivity with Delhi would open up new horizons for fast industrialisation of the region, besides generating employment.

He said for want of adequate employment opportunities, there was heavy exodus of youths and others from the district. This exodus could be checked if jobs could be provided here, the chief minister added.

The chief minister also ordered a probe into the digging of ponds in Chitrakoot and Jhansi divisions in the past three years.

Yogi warned party workers against taking the law in their hands and said that if they had any complaints against any authority, they should tell the local MP and MLAs, who would in turn inform him about the complaint. “Action would be initiated against guilty officers,” he assured them.

He said even if party workers found that hospitals failed to serve the people properly, they should complain to their representatives and the problem would be taken up for solution.

“If fair price food grain, meant for the poor, was being sold in the open market, stringent action would be taken against the concerned officials,” Yogi said.

The chief minister said “now the work culture would be changed.”

Yogi said now staff of the electricity department would go to houses of power connection seekers to give connection to them. People would not have to run for power connections from one window to another at their offices.

Public representatives, including UP minister for state Mahendra Singh, Swatantra Dev Singh, Manohar Lal, mayor Kiran Raaju and several others present at the review meeting told Yogi that a package of Rs 2,800 crore was given to Bundelkhand for its development but no development work was done so far as the money was misused.
