VAMSI, WHO IS MARRIED AND HAS TWO CHILDREN, HAD AN AFFAIR WITH A GIRL BASED OUT OF CHENNAI.

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad police on Thursday arrested a 32-year old man who sent a hoax e-mail to the Mumbai police four days ago, sounding an alert on a possible hijack of flights in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Chennai airports.

Police said Motaparthi Vamsi Krishna, a commerce graduate from Denduluru village of West Godavari district, was arrested from his residence in the morning. “Investigations revealed that Vamsi, working as a travel agent, had sent the e-mail to the Mumbai police from a fake account in the name of a woman. His intention was to delay the flights to avoid his girlfriend, who was pestering him to take her to Mumbai and Goa for a holiday,” Hyderabad deputy commissioner of police (Task Force) B Limba Reddy said. Vamsi, who is married and has two children, had an affair with a girl based out of Chennai. A few days ago, she suggested that they go on a holiday to Mumbai and Goa.

As Vamsi was not in a position to fulfil his girlfriend’s wish, he hatched a plan. He created a fake booking in her name on April 16 from Chennai to Mumbai and sent the ticket to her.

“Since he would be exposed if she tried to board the flight with the fake ticket, Vamsi sent a mail to Mumbai police through a fake mail ID about a hijack,” police said.
