Lucknow gets four new police stations

The state capital will have four new police stations, taking the total in Lucknow to 47.

Deputy inspector general of police, Luckow range, Praveen Kumar, on Monday, informed that the state government had approved four new police stations in Lucknow .

These are Sushant Golf city, Gomti Nagar extension, Rahimabad and Dubagga.

The DIG had sent a proposal to the state government seeking approval for 21 new police stations in districts under Lucknow range- Lakhimpur Kheri, Hardoi, Sitapur and Unnao. The government has also approved four new police stations in Lakhimpur Kheri, Rampur, Sunderbal, Bakeganj and Khamaria. In Hardoi, four new police stations would be Railwaygan­j, Sawayajpur, Kursat and Jahanikhed­a. In Sitapur district, the four new police stations would be Sadar Bazar, Neemsar, Rampur Mathura and Bhadphar. In Unnao district, Badarka, Gulriha, Dahi and Sadar would have new police stations.

The DIG had submitted the proposal for new police stations to the state government after assessing the law and order situation in the four districts under Lucknow range and requiremen­t for new police stations.

In the state capital, the new police stations would help in carrying out better policing. These police stations would be manned by station house officers or a cop of the rank of senior S-I.
