ICS celebrates thirtytwo years of its journey
LUCKNOW : The Institute for Career Studies (ICS), Lucknow known for its career guidance and counselling programmes for students, celebrates May 9 as ‘Career Counsellors’ Day’ every year in memory of Tehrim Dass —the inspiration and driving force behind the institute.
This year, the day was unique and a milestone in the thirty-two years journey of ICS as it marked the “graduation day” for eleven professionals from across the country who have distinction of being the first batch to be awarded with the institute’s, ‘Post Graduate Diploma in Career Guidance and Counselling for Students’.
The one year post graduate diploma has been conceptulised and designed by a team of eminent counsellors and educationists under the supervision and guidance of Dr Amrita Dass, the founding director of the Institute, who pioneered the concept of career guidance and counselling in the country.
Eminent educationist Mohini Manglik graced the occasion as the chief guest and prof Sabra Habib as guest of honour. Manglik felicitated Monika M Dass, an eminent psychologist and counsellor with a plaque for her exemplary contribution in design and content development of the diploma course. Later, Manglik awarded the diploma certificates to the graduates.
Mohini Manglik while congratulating ICS for its stellar contribution was particularly impressed with its commitment in reaching out to students in rural areas and empowering them for a bright future.
Speaking on the occasion, Dass commended the hard work which the diploma awardees had put in and congratulated them for their successful completion of the course.
