LUCKNOW: Watching the musical performances of Malvika Hariom and ‘Prayaas’ kids, Manoj Tiwari, MP, could not stop himself from humming a few lines in his power-packed voice.

“Jab ‘Prayaas’ ke bacchey music baja rahe they… mera man kar raha tha ki mere haath mein mic ho aur main gaane lagoon. Initially, I was a bit apprehensive about singing as I was not aware what kind of event it was. I love to sing in this ‘mahaul’ (atmosphere) and I wish that the musical kids had performed for a longer time,” he said after ‘Prayas’ children wrapped up their instruments.

Moved by the little musicians’ performance, he asked the audience to clap for the kids and said, “I am happier that the leader of the band is a ‘beti’ and everything was moving on her direction.” And, in the same vein he hummed, ‘Badlenge hum, badlenge hum, badlengey jag jab badlengey hum. Saare jahan se kahengey ab ke, chalengey jo haathon me haath dal mil ke…’

The singer was given a huge round of applause.

Tiwari was inspired by anchor Parul humming a few lines played by the kids.

“Just few minutes back singer Malvikaji said that I have become a complete politician. But I want to say that main poora politician nahin hua hoon, abhi bhi artiste hoon (I am still not a complete politician, I am still an artiste). When needed, I do sing and every month I do one or two shows and that helps me in my social work,” said Manoj Tiwari.

“Mahila ko agar samman aur suraksha mil gaya to sab kuchh mil gaya,” added Tiwari, saying that his mother has had maximum impact on his life.
