LUCKNOW : For some students performing Yoga at the Ramabai Ambedkar ground did not prove to be a good experience. After getting drenched in rain that started around 4am, 42 of them fell sick and had to be rushed to the Lok Bandhu Hospital, LDA colony, Krishna Nagar. While 21 of them were discharged in the afternoon, remaining 21 had to be admitted for further treatment. “There is nothing to worry about students. They fell ill after getting drenched in the rain and caught cold,” said Dr PN Ahirwar, Lok Bandhu Hospital. Students from various schools had volunteered to take part in the mega event. Almost all students had reached the venue by 4am. As there was no arrangement for tents, students had no shelter from rain. With no option, students used yoga mats to cover themselves. After getting drenched in rain continuously for several hours students caught cold. The school staff accompanying students rushed them to the Lok Bandhu Hospital. “District administration should have set up waterproof tents at the ground after the met department had predicted rainfall,” said an aggrieved parent.
