Identical wins mark football league
turned out to be a day of identical wins in the District Football League-2017, at the Chowk Stadium here on Tuesday as both Avadh Club and defending champions Army Medical Corps notched up similar wins to collect full points.
Avadh Club outclassed All Warriors Aliganj 2-0 with Alok and Gopal scoring a goal each in the first half, AMC too beat All Star Aliganj also by 2-0. Ashwin and Lakra scored a goal each in each half.
The third match of the day between State Bank of India and Police Boys Red ended in a goalless draw as none of the side could break the ice in the 70-minute duel.
But in the Dilkusha-leg of the event, New Boys Club defeated Dynamos Club 2-1, at the Dilkusha Ground. Sagar scored a brace for the winners, whereas Mahesh struck for Dynamos.
The last match of the day between Vera City and Star Eleven ended in 1-1 draw. Topo scored in the 15th minute to put Star Eleven ahead, but Jagat restored parity for Vera City in the 45th minute.

Satakshi Tiwari won a golden double in the in the 3rd Little Champs Tennis League here on Tuesday. Satakshi defeated Prachi 6-1 to win the under-12 title, before defeating Pranjali Prajapati 6-2 in the under-14 final. Sanidhya Dhar Dwivedi (boys u-8), Aairah (girls u-8), Atharva Kapoor (boys u-10), Saakhsi (girls u-10), Vikesh Chaurasiya (boys u-12), Abhishek (boys u-14) also emerged champions in respective categories.

Ajay Pratap Singh took four wickets for 35 runs as Unity Cricket Club scored a thrilling five-run win against Youth Cricket Club in a league match of the Under-16 Cricket Tournament, at the Christian College ground here on Monday.
