SAROJ SAID THE AIM WAS TO SAVE THE MOVEMENT LAUNCHED BY DR AMBEDKAR AND KANSHI RAM FOR EMPOWERMENT OF THE WEAKER SECTIONS OF THE SOCIETY

LUCKNOW : Rebel Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Indrajit Saroj has decided to organise a meeting near the Bijli Pasi Qila in Lucknow on August 13 to mobilise the party leaders and workers who have been sidelined by the organisation’s national president Mayawati.

Saroj said the aim was to save the movement launched by Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram for empowerment of the weaker sections of the society. The leaders and workers who played a pivotal role in the inception of the Bahujan Samaj Party were expelled or forced to leave the party by Mayawati, he alleged.

“We will launch a new outfit to provide a platform to Kanshi Ram loyalists. I will hold discussions with supporters and rebel leaders. The Bahujan Samaj Party leaders, who are harassed and exploited by Mayawati, are likely to join the meeting. They will be urged to expose Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati’s plan to undermine the movement launched by Kanshi Ram. Instead of the movement, she is more focused on promoting her family and money collection,” he alleged.

Last week, Saroj had accused Mayawati of relieving him of all party posts for not pitching in for the party’s fund collection drive. Senior party leaders, however, had dismissed.
