Interviews for class 2, 3 and 4 posts scrapped
Uttar Pradesh cabinet on Tuesday decided to do away with interviews for recruitment to all group B (non-gazetted), group C and D government posts.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath presided over the meeting of state cabinet that also approved a proposal to implement seventh pay commission recommendations to 44000 employees of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) and its associated companies.
Briefingmediapersons,minister for medical and health Siddharth Nath Singh said the decision to scrap interviews for class 2 (non gazetted), class 3 and class 4 posts would ensure transparency and end corruption in recruitments. Singh said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced scrapping of interviews in group B, C and D posts at the centre on December 29, 2015. A promise in this regard had been made in the BJP’s Sankalp Patra2017, he said.
Minister for energy Shrikant Sharma said the decision to implement seventh pay commission recommendations in UPPCL and associated companies that include UP Power Generation Corporation, UP Hydroelectric Corporation and UP Power Transmission Corporation would cost the exchequer Rs 384 crore.
SUPPORT PRICE
The cabinet decided support price of Rs 1500 per quintal to common variety of paddy and Rs 1590 per quintal to Grade A paddy. An additional amount of Rs 15 per quintal will be paid to farmers for unloading and cleaning of paddy. Rice millers will also be given an incentive of Rs 10 per quintal if they return rice for paddy in a month. A target to procure 50 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been set and 3000 procurement centres would be set up for procurement across the state. The state government would ensure payment for the paddy within 72 hours and information about payment will be sent to mobile phone of the farmers. The procurement centres will work from September 25, 2017 to January 31, 2018 in west UP. The procurement centres will function from November 1, 2017 to February 28, 2018.
MANSAROVAR BHAWAN
The cabinet also approved construction of Kailash Mansarovar Bhawan with a cost of Rs 42.94 crore on GDA’s land in Indira Puram area of Ghaziabad.
The state cabinet approved a sum of Rs 50.40 crore as payment for land to the GDA. The Kailash Mansarovar Bhawan would provide accommodation to 280 pilgrims.
It approved a loan of Rs 1000 crore from HUDCO to Uttar Pradesh Housing Development Board to provide state government’s part of subsidy for affordable housing under Pradhan Mantri Avas Yojana. The Centre provides 60 percent (1.5 lakh) subsidy while the state’s contribution if 40 percent (1 lakh) of subsidy.
The cabinet also approved expansion in municipal limits of Aligarh Nagar Nigam by including 19 villages therein. The state cabinet also approved expansion in limits of Bharvari Nagar Panchayat of Kaushambi by inclusion of 29 villages.
