NCZCC stages street plays on real life incidents
ALLAHABAD: North Central Zone Cultural Centre (NCZCC) has adopted a unique way to educate people on the ills of defecation in open and the importance of cleanliness under its ongoing ‘Swacchta Pakhwara’ campaign.
It is staging plays and street plays on the real and authentic incidents occurred in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh in the recent days hitting the headlines.
“The main objective to come out with this plan is to make street plays interesting and to motivate masses on the issues of national importance,” shared an official of NCZCC Swapnil Kumar Sharma.
“Incidents like ‘bride refuses to go with bridegroom due to lack of toilets’ and ‘cattle dies after consuming polythene’ are described in storytelling forms not only to make street plays interesting but also to catch 100 percent attention of people,” he added.
“The NCZCC has also looped in 3000 school children in this noble cause. They will be educated by our experts on the said issues so that they can understand the objective of the campaign and further educate people of their surroundings,” he added.
The cultural centre has also appealed to all its seven associated cultural centres—Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi—to raise awareness among people on the issue by organising street plays on the real incidents related with ‘ills of defecation in open’ and ‘cleanliness’ occurred in their regions.
Besides, said Sharma, the cultural centre had also appealed the folk artistes of Uttar Pradesh to organize street plays on real stories in their respective rural areas on the said issues to motivate the young and old.
