UP Board high school, inter exams from Feb 6
ALLAHABAD: The UP Board high school and intermediate examinations will commence from February 6, 2018.
While the high school examination will be held in 14 working days, the intermediate examination will be completed in 25 working days. UP Board secretary Neena Srivastava on Friday informed that the examinations would be held in two shifts - 7.30 am to 10.45 am and 2 pm to 5.15pm.
As per records made available by the Board, a total of 67,29,540 students are registered for taking the two examinations -37,12,508 high school and 30,17,032 intermediate.
In comparison to last year, this year the examinee count has swelled by 6,68,506, including a rise of 3,07,793 students in high school and 3,60,713 in intermediate. As per Srivastava, the reason for rise in count of examinees this year could be the improvement in the image of the Board.
“We have implemented several measures for checking use of unfair means in board examinations, like online registration, mandatory availability of CCTV cameras in each class room of every examination centre in the state, etc. In past few years, we have also dealt with incidents of mass copying strictly,” she added.
This year due to Board’s initiative to make only those schools as examination centre which had all the requisite infrastructure and facilities for holding free and fair examinations, the count of examinations centres had declined in comparison to previous years.
In view of the same, the Board has decided to hold examination of multiple subjects in a single day through allocation of specific centre code for each subject.
For intermediate, examination of English would be held on the same day with other subjects, including humanities, commerce and other professional courses while exam of science subjects would be held on different days.
