GORAKHPUR:: Four siblings, all students of SPM Public School, Rapti Nagar, staged a dharna on Monday in front of the DM’s office along with their father to protest their ‘expulsion’ from school for non-payment of fees.

The foursome, Shabnam of class 8, Salma of class 7, Vazeer Alam of class 3 and Haider Ali of class 1 met DM Rajeev Rautela who assured them all possible help.

The DM said strict action would be taken against the school authorities if they were found guilty of expelling children due to non-payment of fees. The students’ father Mohammad Kaish, a daily wager, claimed he had already deposited Rs 19,800 as fees for his children and had requested the school authorities to give some more time so that he could arrange the outstanding amount. But the school principal refused to give him more time and expelled the children from school, he alleged.

However, the manager of the school Shri Prakash Pandey said the children had not been expelled as they were yet to take admission. Their last year fee was due against which their father had submitted a cheque of Rs 19,800 in August but that cheque bounced, he alleged. Their father Mohammad Kaish also misbehaved with teachers, the manager further alleged.

THE KIDS’ FATHER MOHD KAISH CLAIMED HE HAD ALREADY DEPOSITED RS 19,800 AND SOUGHT SOME MORE TIME FROM SCHOOL TO DEPOSIT REMAINING AMOUNT BUT TO NO AVAIL
