Kovind tells IPS officers to use technology for effective policing

NEW DELHI: Calling technology a challenge and a tool for policing, President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday urged Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to utilise it for effective policing. Kovind said while technology expands the avenues for crime, it also allows the police to do its duties “with greater efficiency”. He was addressing a group of IPS officer trainees of the 2016 batch from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy at Rashtrapati Bhavan here.
