SP WILL FIGHT FOR THE PEOPLE, SAYS AKHILESH
LUCKNOW: National president of the Samajwadi Party Akhilesh Yadav said on Thursday his party would not tolerate injustice meted out to the people.
“People all over the state were distressed because of the antipeople policies of the BJP government. They have nowhere to go to make themselves heard. My party will struggle from 'sadan to sadak' (from the legislature to the streets) for the people,” Akhilesh was quoted as saying in a party press release.
The release said SP legislators in both the houses of the state legislature opposed "the antipeople policies of the BJP government in the state".
Party MLC and state spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said the party legislators in both the houses raised the issues of "rising crime and hike in power tariff.”
Chaudhary said the Samajwadi Party MLAs demanded a rollback of hike in power tariff and also termed the UPCOCB (control of organised crime bill) as draconian and anti-public.
Chaudhary said that it had been nine months now since this government came to power in the state, but it could not start a single public interest work.
“At the same time, it has been rolling back the public welfare schemes that was introduced by the previous SP government,” he added.
"Under this government, criminals have become so emboldened that they have been attacking police personnel . Power-drunk Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, ministers, MLAs, MPs have been interfering in government work and harassing the officers.
The new BJP government has ruined 1090 Women Power Line and UP 100 for women safety and crime control that were introduced by the SP government,” he said adding the 102 and 108 ambulance services too were in bad shape.
